Well didn’t the sunshine put his hat on in the end – hip hip hip hooray! Summer has arrived and we’ve already enjoyed plenty of sunshine hours, and witnessed plenty of eruptions of colour. We can’t believe we’ll soon be saying goodbye to patio season for another year. The bedding and patio tunnels in the nursery are fast depleting, as plants have been continuously transported down to the garden centre to keep benches brimming with a huge variety of bedding and patio plants. Soon the magnificent patio colour drifts on the garden centre benches will be gone – but magnificent colour drifts will remain in gardens all summer long, and beyond if looked after.

For sizzling summer colour at the garden centre, the baton will pass to a myriad of perennials, already providing fabulous splashes of colour en mass around the centre. Like the bedding and patio plants, Trevena Cross grows all its perennials on site in the nursery. This allows us to grow a huge variety and include a range of hand picked, more unusual types too. The two litre size is particularly appealing this year, with a great 4 for £15 deal offering plants at just £3.75 a piece. Plenty of larger three litre, four litre and seven and a half litre plants are also available for those wanting something a bit more substantial to begin with to plant out in the garden… or in a pot.

Summer has arrived – and it’s a lovely time to visit and take a wander in the sunshine, enjoying the ‘feel good’ factor of the colours, the flowers, the bees and butterflies and the wonders of nature – topped off with a relaxing stop-off at the Garden Kitchen Cafe for anything of your choosing, from their extensive menu.
