Busy season continues, with all hands on deck to ensure continuous plentiful supplies of all plants – particularly the bedding and patio packs and veg plants that are in such high demand at this time of the year. Multiple daily journeys down the lane from nursery to garden centre, transport huge quantities of fresh stock to ensure supply never runs out!
There has been a real explosion in bedding and patio interest over recent weeks as the nights have warmed up, and risk of frosts has more or less passed. The value of our patio 4-packs (£3.30 each – just 82p per plant) has become well known over recent years and these remain extremely popular buys during busy season, that can bring colour to the garden landscape right up until Christmas if the weather is kind – not something you can say about the average shrub or perennial.
It isn’t all about the seasonal buys however – some buys ensure we can retain our name and reputation as an ‘exotic nursery’. A couple of recent container loads of exotica, including a range of palms, bay trees, olives (on the way) and other statement pieces have found home on Trevena Cross terra firma and are ready to transform gardens into exotic landscapes. Similar can’t be found elsewhere locally so our exotic specimen offering is what stands us apart from any other nursery or garden centre in the area – as well as the fact that we of course grow more than 90% of the plants that we sell.
If you haven’t been to visit us yet this spring, we hope to see you soon for your spring buys – the Garden Kitchen Cafe is also open now with plenty of outside seating, so you can also stop by for a cuppa or spot of lunch at the same time! (Takeaways also still available).
