    Euonymus japonicus Microphyllus

    £8.50£24.95
Available in a 3 litre or a 10 litre pot. Euonymus japonicus Microphyllus is an evergreen, densely bushy, rounded shrub with dark green leaves. A great alternative to Buxus (prone to box blight and other pests and diseases), it can provide a great low screen or box hedge when plants are positioned next to each other. Low maintenance, with a compact growth habit, this variety will reach only a maximum of 1m/3.3ft tall and wide eventually, spreading right to ground level. It is well suited to trimming to a desirable shape, making maintenance very easy indeed. Variegated gold leaf highlights and small greenish-white flowers in early summer offer added interest. Hardier than some Euonymus varieties it is an excellent option for hedging, or in and around borders. A per plant discount is available for bulk purchases of Euonymus japonicus Microphyllus hedging plants. This discount will be applied in your basket if applicable (begins at 10+ plants). Or check out our 75 plant UK wide Pallet Deal on 3 litre Euonymus japonicus Microphyllus.
  • Euonymus-japonicus-product-
Available in  5 litre pot. More commonly known as the ‘Japanese Spindle’, this wonderful evergreen hedging shrub bears bright green glossy, almost leathery like foliage. Great in most soil types but the wettest, it sits well in a coastal position - even right near the beach - and is easy to maintain. A slower grower but a reliable one that will give you great results. A per plant discount is available for bulk purchases of Euonymus japonicus hedging plants. This discount will be applied in your basket if applicable (begins at 10+ plants).
  • elaeagnus x ebbingei compacta
Available in a 2 litre pot. Elaeagnus ebbingei Compacta forms a neater, more compact hedge than its very close relative Elaeagnus ebbingei, and is ideal for hedges up to 2m/6ft. It grows around 45 cm/18inches a year, looks great on Cornish walls and is good for smaller gardens. Besides forming a more compact hedge, many of its other characteristics, including its nitrogen fixing capabilities, are in line with its relative Elaeagnus x ebbingei. It is an evergreen, hardy, salt-wind tolerant hedging plant that will grow very close to the sea. It will grow well in any well drained soil, even poor, dry soils, as it is particularly drought tolerant, and can be positioned in anything from full sun to heavy shade. A per plant discount is available for bulk purchases of Elaeagnus x ebbingei Compacta hedging plants. This discount will be applied in your basket if applicable (begins at 10+ plants).

    Echium pininana

    £4.50£9.50
Echium pininana – this exotic, evergreen plant originates in the Canary Islands and has an unusual appearance with huge hairy, silver leaves. Also evocatively named the Giant’s Vipers Bugloss, it seeds freely after flowering from the very tall spikes of funnel-shaped blue flowers it produces in the summer. (Height 3-5 metres). To thrive it needs full sun and well-drained soil and although it can withstand temperatures as low as minus 5 degrees centigrade, it should be protected from hard frost. It can cause skin irritation. Pictures are for guidance only. Plants available in a one litre pot are significantly smaller than those in a four litre pot. • Originating from New Zealand the Dicksonia fibrosa is also known as the golden tree fern or perhaps more fabulously as the Wheki ponga. An evergreen fern which slowly grows over 20+ years to 2 metres tall with 2 metre long dark green fronds. It's a striking, hardy addition to a shady garden or courtyard space. Pictures are for guidance only. Our online shopping Terms & Conditions (postage and returns) can be viewed here: /online-shopping-terms-conditions/
  • Dicksonia antarctica tree fern
Available in a range of sizes, from 1ft of trunk right up to 8ft of trunk, and priced per foot - £45 per foot for trunks up to 5ft tall and £50 per foot for trunks 6ft tall and above. Don’t forget the measurement also includes the ‘hidden’ trunk within the pot/beneath the ground so a 4ft trunk tree fern won’t be 4ft of ‘visible trunk’ – but nearer 3ft of visible trunk. Do take this into consideration when thinking about the size that would best suit you and your garden – and the fact that they are slow growing, so will take a great deal of time to reach a ‘desired height’ if you purchase one a way off that height. Dicksonia antarctica is an evergreen Australian tree fern with large fronds and a dark brown trunk - slow growing to 3m/10ft or more. It should be planted in a moisture retentive soil in a cool shaded position out of strong winds. It can also be grown in a cool shaded conservatory if preferred.
  • Daphne Pink Fragrance – if you were smelling the flowers in heaven, you might just be near this Daphne as the scent is divine! Low growing, it reaches to only 90 cms and its compact habit and profuse flowering through spring and summer makes it a fantastic ‘smelly’ addition to the garden. Caution: all parts are toxic if ingested. Pictures are for guidance only. Our online shopping Terms & Conditions (postage and returns) can be viewed here: /online-shopping-terms-conditions/
  • Daphne odora aureomarginata – imagine the sweet spring fragrance of red-purple flowers accompanied by glossy green, yellow-margined foliage and you’ve discovered this Daphne. Plant in hummus rich, moist, well-drained soil in full sun or part-shade. Toxic if eaten and can irritate the skin. • Daphne odora

    £17.50
Daphne odora – also known as a Japan Daphne, this evergreen shrub has clusters of fabulous, fragrant deep purple-pink and white flowers in January-March, red fruits in April set off against handsome, leathery, deep green leaves. Loves full sun or partial shade and is frost hardy. Water thoroughly before planting and keep pruning to a minimum as the plant is susceptible to die-back. Caution: toxic if eaten and can irritate the skin/eyes. Pictures are for guidance only. Our online shopping Terms & Conditions (postage and returns) can be viewed here: /online-shopping-terms-conditions/
  • Daphne odora ‘Marianni Rogbret’ – This Daphne is a vivid, evergreen shrub, edged in light yellow with almost luminous variegation set off against the dark green. From February to late March it has small, very perfumed light pink flowers. It should be planted in normal lime free soil which is preferably cool and acidic in full sun or partial shade. It should also be fed with good quality fertiliser like the Trevena Cross slow release. Cyathea australis - A large, evergreen fern with a rough, thick trunk. It grows up to 4 metres high pretty quickly with a spread of 6-8 metres and each frond can reach up to 4 metres long in good conditions! The Cyathea tolerates the sun as long as the soil is moist, but does need a good sheltered site to thrive. Some sources suggest it’s hardier than a Dicksonia Antarctica. It will be hardy to minus 8 degrees centigrade, but be aware that the fronds will get frosted in severe winters, so give the plant protection. Probably the best tree fern for a sunny site with its large evergreen fern and hairy trunk. Plant in a sheltered area or with light shade and add peat when planting or inside in a conservatory.
