  • Euonymus japonicus Microphyllus
The nursery grows thousands of different perennials every year - and they are available at the garden centre in various sizes. One of our most popular sizes is the two litre perennial - a nicely established plant but also a very cost effective buy, and still with plenty of growing on to do. Perfect for a mixed perennial or shrub and perennial border - or perhaps as focal points in pots of summer colour! An example of the selection available includes different varieties of Aquilegia, Campanula, Coreopsis, Gaillardia, Lupinus, Rudbeckia and Salvia. Your three selected 2ltr plants could form any combination and will be chosen based on current availability, but we will aim to supply a mixed selection (unless requested otherwise).

  • Banksia integrifolia – of all the Banksias this coast Banksi is one of the hardiest needing low maintenance. A species of evergreen tree originating from the east coast of Australia and popular in Australian parks and gardens. The evergreen tree (height 4-6 metres) produces spikes of pale yellow flowers in summer/winter. Hardy and versatile, it is tolerant of salt winds, a variety of soils and hard pruning. Integrifolia will grow in clay, sand, acid and even alkaline soils and has good resistance to wind and salt, making it suitable for seaside planting. It should be planted in very well-drained soil, with lots of grit. Its hardy nature means it will also stand quite hard frosts once established. Normally available in a large 4-litre pot. highly valued by beekeepers because it produces large amounts of pollen and nectar during autumn and winter, thus helping support hives at a time when little else is flowering. • Corokia Geenty's Ghost foliageCorokia Geenty's Ghost hedging plant
Available in a 4 litre pot. Corokia x virgata Geenty's Ghost is a tough evergreen shrub from New Zealand with silvery grey foliage and small yellow flowers in the spring, which are followed by red-orange berries. It is a great one for coastal planting, withstanding salt-laden winds well, and also makes a cracking hedge in locations prone to wind. Its compact habit means it can be trimmed to a neat  shape, naturally only reaching around 1-2m high and around 1m wide - therefore also making it a great pick for smaller gardens. It thrives in a well drained soil in a sunny, or partially shady position. Feeding with a decent fertiliser during the growing season will encourage the nice dense growth required of the 'perfect hedge'! A per plant discount is available for bulk purchases of Corokia Geentys Ghost hedging plants. This discount will be applied in your basket if applicable (begins at 10+ plants).
  • Corokia mangatangi – an evergreen shrub from New Zealand with starry, yellow flowers in spring and warm yellow berries in autumn. Grows up to 2 metres high with a spread of 1 metre. • Corokia x virgata Sunsplash foliageCorokia x virgata Sunsplash - Trevena Cross
Corokia x virgata Sunsplash (1.2-1.5m height and spread) is part of our coastal plant collection and it is a great one for seaside planting - tolerating salt laden winds well. It is evergreen for year round interest, with green-yellow and cream variegated foliage, sometimes flushed orange, and small star shaped yellow flowers in spring, followed by shiny orange-red berries in autumn. It works well as a low hedge, due to its compact, upright growing habit too. Enjoys a well drained, fertile soil in a sunny, ideally sheltered position.

    Correa alba

Correa Alba – also known as the Botany Bay Tea Tree and the White Correa. This freely branching evergreen shrub of Australian origin (height 2 metres) bears clusters of short, bell-shaped, sometimes pink tinted, waxy white flowers from early summer to late autumn. It makes a great conservatory specimen plant. It should be hardy down to about -5 degrees centigrade and withstands coastal exposure. Plant in well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade or use to create an informal hedge or as a container plant. • Correa decumbens – add a festive blast of colour to your space with this evergreen, spreading dwarf shrub from Kangaroo Island and South Australia. Plant in moist, but well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade. Hardy to -5 degrees centigrade. Pictures are for guidance only. Our online shopping Terms & Conditions (postage and returns) can be viewed here: /online-shopping-terms-conditions/

Cyathea australis - A large, evergreen fern with a rough, thick trunk. It grows up to 4 metres high pretty quickly with a spread of 6-8 metres and each frond can reach up to 4 metres long in good conditions! The Cyathea tolerates the sun as long as the soil is moist, but does need a good sheltered site to thrive. Some sources suggest it’s hardier than a Dicksonia Antarctica. It will be hardy to minus 8 degrees centigrade, but be aware that the fronds will get frosted in severe winters, so give the plant protection. Probably the best tree fern for a sunny site with its large evergreen fern and hairy trunk. Plant in a sheltered area or with light shade and add peat when planting or inside in a conservatory. Pictures are for guidance only. Our online shopping Terms & Conditions (postage and returns) can be viewed here: /online-shopping-terms-conditions/

It should also be fed with good quality fertiliser like the Trevena Cross slow release. Pictures are for guidance only. Our online shopping Terms & Conditions (postage and returns) can be viewed here: /online-shopping-terms-conditions/
  • Daphne odora

    £17.50
Daphne odora – also known as a Japan Daphne, this evergreen shrub has clusters of fabulous, fragrant deep purple-pink and white flowers in January-March, red fruits in April set off against handsome, leathery, deep green leaves. Loves full sun or partial shade and is frost hardy. Water thoroughly before planting and keep pruning to a minimum as the plant is susceptible to die-back. Caution: toxic if eaten and can irritate the skin/eyes. Pictures are for guidance only. Our online shopping Terms & Conditions (postage and returns) can be viewed here: /online-shopping-terms-conditions/
  • Daphne odora aureomarginata – imagine the sweet spring fragrance of red-purple flowers accompanied by glossy green, yellow-margined foliage and you’ve discovered this Daphne. Plant in hummus rich, moist, well-drained soil in full sun or part-shade. Toxic if eaten and can irritate the skin. Pictures are for guidance only. Our online shopping Terms & Conditions (postage and returns) can be viewed here: /online-shopping-terms-conditions/
  • Daphne Pink Fragrance – if you were smelling the flowers in heaven, you might just be near this Daphne as the scent is divine! The pink flower buds are carried on new wood in the spring and open up to reveal white flushed pink flowers. Low growing, it reaches to only 90 cms and its compact habit and profuse flowering through spring and summer makes it a fantastic ‘smelly’ addition to the garden. Caution: all parts are toxic if ingested. Pictures are for guidance only. Our online shopping Terms & Conditions (postage and returns) can be viewed here: /online-shopping-terms-conditions/
  • Dicksonia antarctica tree fern
Available in a range of sizes, from 1ft of trunk right up to 8ft of trunk, and priced per foot - £45 per foot for trunks up to 5ft tall and £50 per foot for trunks 6ft tall and above. Don’t forget the measurement also includes the ‘hidden’ trunk within the pot/beneath the ground so a 4ft trunk tree fern won’t be 4ft of ‘visible trunk’ – but nearer 3ft of visible trunk. Do take this into consideration when thinking about the size that would best suit you and your garden – and the fact that they are slow growing, so will take a great deal of time to reach a ‘desired height’ if you purchase one a way off that height. Dicksonia antarctica is an evergreen Australian tree fern with large fronds and a dark brown trunk - slow growing to 3m/10ft or more. It should be planted in a moisture retentive soil in a cool shaded position out of strong winds. It can also be grown in a cool shaded conservatory if preferred.
  • Originating from New Zealand the Dicksonia fibrosa is also known as the golden tree fern or perhaps more fabulously as the Wheki ponga. An evergreen fern which slowly grows over 20+ years to 2 metres tall with 2 metre long dark green fronds. It's a striking, hardy addition to a shady garden or courtyard space. Pictures are for guidance only. Our online shopping Terms & Conditions (postage and returns) can be viewed here: /online-shopping-terms-conditions/
