Griselinia littoralis is one our most popular forms of hedging with its attractive apple green leaves. Hardy to -12 degrees centigrade and able to withstand salt laden winds – we grow thousands of these each year on plots in our nursery.

Upright growing, Griselinia littoralis forms a thin hedge that can be trimmed to 6-8ft and a width of only 60cm/2ft, so it won’t take up a large part of your garden.

Griselinia littoralis grows 90cm/3ft a year if fed with a very good slow release fertiliser like Trevena Cross Fertiliser, and can be trimmed to a desired height, even 1-2m/3-6.5ft can look very neat.

Each specimen should be planted 40cm/1-2ft apart from one another – although they can be planted further apart if you do not mind waiting longer for them to form a solid hedge. The Griselinia littoralis UK wide pallet deal will suit most hedge requirements very well, with 50 five litre plants providing plenty of potential and scope to create a decent length hedge.

It is fantastic in a sheltered estuary or inland position, but not for the most exposed locations, at Lands End on the clifftop for example. In such locations consider Olearia traversii Compacta, Olearia Laxifolia or Elaeagnus Compacta instead.

Hardiness, as well as attractiveness, is of utmost importance when choosing a long lasting screening solution, and Griselinia littoralis ticks all the boxes for the vast majority of homeowners inland and around the coastline.

Create your new hedge today with the Griselinia littoralis UK wide pallet deal from Trevena Cross.
