With so many plants that thrive in full or partial sun, this section is dedicated to those that suit alternative conditions – a much appreciated collection of shade plants that can survive in north or east facing gardens or shady spots in any garden, facing any aspect, and still provide striking or interesting foliage throughout the year. The star of the category is perhaps the Dicksonia tree fern. Native to Australia/New Zealand, they can help create a wonderful woodland feel in the garden, when mixed with a variety of other plants.
