  • Dicksonia antarctica tree fern

PLEASE NOTE: This item is available for delivery to a TR postcode (in Cornwall, exc. Isles of Scilly) only. Outside of TR postcode area: Please call (01736 763880) or email for a price before proceeding with a purchase, as delivery cost will vary by size/location.

Available in a range of sizes, from 1ft of trunk right up to 8ft of trunk, and priced per foot - £45 per foot for trunks up to 5ft tall and £50 per foot for trunks 6ft tall and above. Don’t forget the measurement also includes the ‘hidden’ trunk within the pot/beneath the ground so a 4ft trunk tree fern won’t be 4ft of ‘visible trunk’ – but nearer 3ft of visible trunk. Do take this into consideration when thinking about the size that would best suit you and your garden – and the fact that they are slow growing, so will take a great deal of time to reach a ‘desired height’ if you purchase one a way off that height. Dicksonia antarctica is an evergreen Australian tree fern with large fronds and a dark brown trunk - slow growing to 3m/10ft or more. It should be planted in a moisture retentive soil in a cool shaded position out of strong winds. It can also be grown in a cool shaded conservatory if preferred.
  • Originating from New Zealand the Dicksonia fibrosa is also known as the golden tree fern or perhaps more fabulously as the Wheki ponga. An evergreen fern which slowly grows over 20+ years to 2 metres tall with 2 metre long dark green fronds. It's a striking, hardy addition to a shady garden or courtyard space. Echium pininana

    £4.50£9.50
Echium pininana – this exotic, evergreen plant originates in the Canary Islands and has an unusual appearance with huge hairy, silver leaves. Also evocatively named the Giant’s Vipers Bugloss, it seeds freely after flowering from the very tall spikes of funnel-shaped blue flowers it produces in the summer. (Height 3-5 metres). To thrive it needs full sun and well-drained soil and although it can withstand temperatures as low as minus 5 degrees centigrade, it should be protected from hard frost. It can cause skin irritation. Pictures are for guidance only. Plants available in a one litre pot are significantly smaller than those in a four litre pot. • Euonymus Microphyllus foliage close upEuonymus Microphyllus plants

    Euonymus japonicus Microphyllus

    £8.50£24.95
Available in a 3 litre or a 10 litre pot. Euonymus japonicus Microphyllus is an evergreen, densely bushy, rounded shrub with dark green leaves. Low maintenance, with a compact growth habit, this variety will reach only a maximum of 1m/3.3ft tall and wide eventually, spreading right to ground level. It is well suited to trimming to a desirable shape, making maintenance very easy indeed. Variegated gold leaf highlights and small greenish-white flowers in early summer offer added interest. • Griselinia Green Horizon 5ltr plantGriselinia Green Horizon product picture

    Griselinia Green Horizon

    £6.95£10.95
Similar to the standard Griselinia, but with darker green, glossy leaves, Griselinia Green Horizon is a fast growing evergreen, hardy to at least -10°C to -12°C. It will withstand a coastal position and salt laden winds well but as with the standard and other variations of Griselinia, prefers a more sheltered estuary or inlet like St Mawes or Falmouth in Cornwall. In more exposed locations, Griselinia Green Horizon will need to be positioned several hundred feet from the sea, and for extremely exposed coastal sites like Land’s End, and Lizard Point in Cornwall, we would recommend the tougher Elaeagnus or Olearia hedging types.
A per plant discount is available for bulk purchases of Griselinia green Horizon hedging plants. This discount will be applied in your basket if applicable (begins at 10+ plants).

    Griselinia Green Jewel

    £10.95£25.00
Available in a 5 litre or 10 litre pot.
A more subtle variation in colour than Griselinia Variegata, Griselinia Green Jewel displays bright, glossy green leaves, splashed cream margins, and grey undertones across the leaf. The leaves tend to be slightly more pointed than the rounder leaf of Variegata too.
Like the other Griselinia varieties, it tolerates a coastal position and salt laden winds very well, however it prefers more enclosed/sheltered estuaries. Very exposed locations would be better suited to the tougher Elaeagnus or Olearia hedging types.
A per plant discount is available for bulk purchases of Griselinia Green Jewel hedging plants. This discount will be applied in your basket if applicable (begins at 10+ plants).
