We’ve chosen a special selection of our favourite plants to grow in larger numbers for our garden centre visitors and are now making these available for you to buy online. Our ‘top plant picks’ include unusual, rare and appealing specimens which we will deliver to you.

Many of these plants are so rare they are difficult to find at other garden centres across the country. Others have special historical significance to us. We’re proud to have been one of the very first places in the UK to grow and sell ‘exotica’ such as the Restios and continue to grow and sell these plants today.

All these plants are available to buy online, subject to availability as they sell out fast! Watch out for new additions being added to our Trevena favourites in our ‘top plant picks’ selection.

As a traditional nursery growing a huge range of plants we aren’t able to maintain a complete catalogue of plants in our online shop due to continuously changing stock levels. If you’d like to buy plants which aren’t on the website, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us as we are happy to arrange payment and delivery (subject to availability). • Griselinia hedge at Trevena Crossgriselinia-littoralis-product

    Griselinia littoralis

    £7.95£65.00

As a guide: 9cm: currently 30-40cm high 2 litre: currently 50-60cm high 5 litre: currently 50cm high 10 litre: currently 80cm -110cm high 20 litre: currently 110cm-120cm high IMPORTANT CONSIDERATION: A quick grower, we don't find height of griselinia is really such an important factor when considering the quality of the plant. We trim all of our hedging plants several times a year to promote a bushy plant, that will be ready to form a decent hedge right away. Height isn't everything - while a 2 litre plant could easily be 1m tall without trimming, this 'leggy' specimen wouldn't be the kind of plant that you want for a hedge. A trimmed one with multiple shoots, will establish as a hedge much more quickly.
A per plant discount is available for bulk purchases of Griselinia hedging plants. This discount will be applied in your basket if applicable (begins at 10+ plants). For 50 5ltr Griselinia plants check out our Griselinia 5ltr pallet deal to benefit from UK wide FREE DELIVERY.

We trim all of our hedging plants several times a year to promote a bushy plant, that will be ready to form a decent hedge right away. Similar to the standard Griselinia, but with darker green, glossy leaves, Griselinia Green Horizon is a fast growing evergreen hedging plant, hardy to at least -10°C to -12°C. It will withstand a coastal position and salt laden winds well but as with the standard and other variations of Griselinia, prefers a more sheltered estuary or inlet like St Mawes or Falmouth in Cornwall. In more exposed locations, Griselinia Green Horizon will need to be positioned several hundred feet from the sea, and for extremely exposed coastal sites like Land’s End, and Lizard Point in Cornwall, we would recommend the tougher Olearia hedging types.
A per plant discount is available for bulk purchases of Griselinia Green Horizon hedging plants. This discount will be applied in your basket if applicable (begins at 10+ plants).

    Griselinia Green Jewel

    £10.95£35.00
Currently unavailable online. A more subtle variation in colour than Griselinia Variegata, Griselinia Green Jewel displays bright, glossy green leaves, splashed cream margins, and grey undertones across the leaf. The leaves tend to be slightly more pointed than the rounder leaf of Variegata too. Like the other Griselinia varieties, it tolerates a coastal position and salt laden winds very well, however it prefers more enclosed/sheltered estuaries. Very exposed locations would be better suited to the tougher Elaeagnus or Olearia hedging types. Plants on average supplied at 60-90cm high, but this can vary. A quick grower, we don't find height of griselinia is really such an important factor when considering the quality of the plant. A decent pot size provides a good indication of plant robustness and bushiness, and in fact we will cut our nursery plants down to encourage bushier growth (rather than a 'leggy' plant). if we feel it necessary. A per plant discount is available for bulk purchases of Griselinia Green Jewel hedging plants. This discount will be applied in your basket if applicable (begins at 10+ plants).
  • Euonymus Microphyllus foliage close upEuonymus Microphyllus plants

    Euonymus japonicus Microphyllus

    £9.50£24.95
Available in a 3 litre pot. Currently around 30cm high, and bushy. IMPORTANT CONSIDERATION: We don’t believe the height of our hedging plants to be of huge importance when we make them available for sale. In fact we trim all of our hedging plants several times a year to promote a bushy plant, that will be ready to form a decent hedge right away. Height isn’t everything – a ‘leggy’ specimen wouldn’t be the kind of plant that you want for a hedge. A trimmed one with multiple shoots, will establish as a hedge much more quickly, and we therefore believe shape and bushiness to be real signs of quality, rather than current plant height.

  • Dicksonia antarctica tree fern
    Out of Stock
NO LONGER AVAILABLE TO PURCHASE ONLINE. Available in a range of sizes, from 1ft of trunk right up to 8ft of trunk, and priced per foot - £45 per foot for trunks up to 5ft tall and £50 per foot for trunks 6ft tall and above. Don’t forget the measurement also includes the ‘hidden’ trunk within the pot/beneath the ground so a 4ft trunk tree fern won’t be 4ft of ‘visible trunk’ – but nearer 3ft of visible trunk. Do take this into consideration when thinking about the size that would best suit you and your garden – and the fact that they are slow growing, so will take a great deal of time to reach a ‘desired height’ if you purchase one a way off that height. PLEASE NOTE: Up to 5ft trunks: Are sent on a pallet with fronds intact. These trunks, plus fronds, should arrive in good condition. 6ft trunks: Can be sent with fronds but we cannot guarantee that the fronds will arrive intact. We always do our best to protect them when packing on to the pallet, but transit can sometimes disturb/damage the fronds.  7 - 8ft trunks: Due to height restrictions, these trunks will normally be removed from the pot and fixed to the pallet. They will arrive without fronds due to difficulties keeping them intact during transit. They will usually fall into the category of an 'oversize item', which means carriage will be more expensive - usually the cost of two pallets, and therefore double the carriage charge of trunks up to 6ft in height. Please contact us for specific details.
