Makes a very good tub plant for a number of years. Caution toxic if eaten. |

|  | This glossy leaved evergreen small spreading tree from Australia has a creamy pink – light brown bark and reddish bronze foliage when young turning to a shiny deep green. |  | This tough growing South African shrub gets its name from the aromatic leaves, which are leathery and grey green. Terminal sprays of small creamy flowers in late spring and summer are followed by tiny fruits, which are covered in what looks like cotton wool giving a very decorative effect. Able to grow to 5m tall and 3-5m wide but can be kept smaller by pruning. Withstands salt winds and gales making it very useful as a hedge or large shrub. Has withstood minus 6 degrees with us when planted in free draining soil in an open sunny position. |

In spring flower stalks up to 60cms ( 2ft ) emerge from the centre of the fan of leaves bearing gently curving brush like flowers up to 30cms long (1ft ) These flowers are coral red and tipped with bright orange. The ultimate container pot where it will flower earlier due to constriction of the roots. Grow in an a very well drained orchid type compost. Protect from hard frost and grow in an open sunny situation. |
