 Pittosporum tenuifolium Tandara Gold
A New Zealand evergreen tree with small green-variegated gold foliage. Height to 3m with a spread of 1.5m. Plant in fertile soil in sun or part-shade. Wind-hardy making it a very good choice for seaside gardens.

 Pittosporum tenuifolium Tiki
An evergreen shrub from New Zealand with tightly packed pale green rounded leaves that can be trimmed to shape similar to Box to form feature shapes. Quicker and easier to grow than Box in coastal areas. Only growing to 2m high and 1m wide this is an excellent choice for tubs and containers. Plant in well drained soil in sun or partial shade. In containers use John Innes no 3.

A most attractive evergreen plant growing easily and rapidly with leaves 5cm long grey green with a neat creamy white margin. Grows naturally into a tight neat shape an excellent plant. Max Height 3m. Max Spread 2m. Full sun/partial shade. Hardy. Back-fill with soil mixed with peat substitute and a suitable fertiliser.

 Pittosporum tenuifolium Victoria
A hardier variety of Pittosporum from New Zealand with small pale silvery – green leaves with creamy white edging that becomes tinged with dark pink in the winter. Frost hardy and evergreen, this shrub grows to about 2m. with a spread of 1-1.5m. Plant in any reasonable soil in full sun or light shade. Very versatile, being good for tubs and pots or even as a hedging plant.

A large bushy shrub with light green leaves with cream margins. Bell-shaped, black-red flowers. Max Height 1m to 4m. Max Spread 2m. Flowers May to June. Full sun. Frost hardy. Back-fill with soil mixed with peat substitute and a suitable fertiliser.

 Pittosporum tobira (Japanese Mock Orange)
Evergreen densely leaved shrub with fragrant white flowers in spring and shiny tough evergreen leaves. Followed by round yellow brown capsules with red seeds. Height 2m. Will tolerate chalk and drought. Plant in sun or part shade in well-drained soil. Should be hardy to minus 7 degrees C. Good seaside hedger.

 Pittosprormum tenuifolium Oliver Twist
A hardy evergreen shrub with tiny leaves on black stems that forms a delightful foliage shrub with a height of 1-1.5m and a spread of 1m. Can be trimmed like Box. Plant in fertile well drained soil in an open sunny position in full sun to light shade.

 Plagianthus betulinus Reginus
A hardy deciduous tree from New Zealand that in its juvenile stage forms a densely twiggy upright bush with small bright green rounded, and toothed leaves. As it matures after a few years it becomes a straight trunked tree 5-10m tall with larger elongated leaves and yellowish green flowers from mid spring to summer. The tree has an attractive airy appearance yet is quite tough in strong winds, plant in good well drained soil in full sun or light shade.

 Podocarpus henkelii (Henkel’s Yellow Wood)
Evergreen large shrub or small tree from the Natal in South Africa with a pyramid shape and blue-green foliage. Height up to 5m. The drooping branches of this plant create a Christmas tree effect. Plant in moist humus-rich soil, in sun or part-shade. Hardy to about minus 8 degrees C. Cones form on mature specimens.

 Podocarpus nivalis (Alpine Totara)
This fairly hardy evergreen shrub from New Zealand forms a dense rounded bush of rigid linear green – bronze leaves up to 2m tall and wide. As it is slow growing it can be clipped to shape and size. Plant in a fertile, moist but well drained humus rich soil in full sun.

 Podocarpus totara
From New Zealand this slow growing hardy tree can eventually reach 10m or more. It will take very many years to reach this sort of height so is suitable for a garden tree. Forms a tall pyramidal shape with a dense branch structure. A very good specimen tree either for a border or in a lawn. Grow in any reasonable soil in sun or shade as long as it is not waterlogged.

 Podocarpus totara (Albany Gold)
A hardy evergreen slow growing foliage plant from New Zealand with fine golden yellow leaves that respond well to clipping. A good alternative to box that can be used for low or tall hedging or for topiary. It makes a most desirable foliage tree after many years making it highly recommended for most gardens. Can reach 5m high and 3m wide if left unpruned. Plant in well drained soil in full sun.

 Polygala myrtifolia
A very attractive evergreen shrub from South Africa with masses of 2cm long magenta pink flowers from spring to autumn and soft light green foliage. Height 1.5-2m with a spread of 1-2m. Plant in well drained soil and water well in dry spells. Classed as Zone 8 USDA but would probably be hardy to about minus 5 degrees once established. Makes a magnificent flowering tub plant for the patio.

 Prostanthera Badja Peak
An aromatic evergreen shrub from Australia with dark green foliage that sets off the almost white flowers that have purple markings. These flowers are born in the summer and are very attractive to bees and insects. Height 1.5m with a spread of 1.8m. Plant in full sun in a well drained soil. Has proved fairly hardy so far.

 Prostanthera cunneata (Alpine mint bush)
Alpine Mint Bush. A bushy shrub with tiny dark green leaves, strongly scented when crushed. Broadly tubular white flowers with pretty purple and yellow markings inside. Max Height 30cm to 90cm. Max Spread 30cm to 90cm. Flowers June to August. Full sun. Frost hardy. Back-fill with soil mixed with peat substitute and a suitable fertiliser.

 Prostanthera rotundifolia Rosea (Australian Mint Bush)
Makes a bushy spreading shrub with slender stems and rounded, toothed, aromatic leaves deep green above and paler below. In spring and summer bears masses of nodding, bell shaped, rose pink flowers. Grow in fertile well-drained soil in full sun. Protect from hard frost. Makes a wonderful container plant. Can grow to 1-1.5m high with a similar spread.

 Prostanthera sieberi
Also known as the Australian mint bush, this aromatic shrub has lilac purple flowers in spring. Height and spread to 1.5M. Plant in full sun in well-drained soil. Dislikes any waterlogging, but is prone to dry out quickly. Add peat when planting.

 Prunus laurocerasus (Cherry Laurel)
A fully hardy bushy evergreen shrub with oblong glossy green leaves. White flowers are produced in upright racemes in spring. Followed by conical, cherry-like red fruit. Planted three feet apart in a moist well-drained soil this makes an excellent hedging plant. Height and spread 8m. Can be clipped to form a reasonably formal hedge. Harmful if eaten. Plants supplied are in 15 litre pots.

 Pseudopanax adiantifolius
A very rare salt-wind-resistant evergreen erect multi stemmed shrub from New Zealand With medium sized tough leathery green leaves. Excellent for seaside locations. Specimen foliage interest. Height and spread 3m. Plant in any well-drained, soil in sun or full shade. Can be grown in a pot. Should be able to take temperatures down to minus 10 degrees C.

An evergreen shrub or small tree from New Zealand, with glossy green foliage and small slightly fragrant star-shaped cream flowers in winter, followed by black-purple fruits, edible for birds.
