|  | An exotic evergreen shrub from New Zealand with large deep green leaves composed of up to 9 oval leaflets from a single point up to 20cm long. In the summer large clusters of tiny greenish white flowers hang below the leaves. Height 3m with a spread of 2.5m. It will grow best when the roots are cool so mulch well. An excellent plant for creating an exotic look. Grow in rich fertile soil that is moist but well drained. Grow in full sun or partial shade. Hardy to minus 6 degrees when established. |

| | Tarchonanthus camphoratus
(Camphor Bush)
|  | This tough growing South African shrub gets its name from the aromatic leaves, which are leathery and grey green. Terminal sprays of small creamy flowers in late spring and summer are followed by tiny fruits, which are covered in what looks like cotton wool giving a very decorative effect. Able to grow to 5m tall and 3-5m wide but can be kept smaller by pruning. Withstands salt winds and gales making it very useful as a hedge or large shrub. Has withstood minus 6 degrees with us when planted in free draining soil in an open sunny position. |
