Older leaves are cream and green while the younger growth is pink ageing to light pink and cream. This gives an effect in spring of a bush with a pink halo. |

|  | An Australian needlebush with light green silky-hairy young growth. Leaves are made up of many ridged needles. Produces white sweetly scented flowers. A very good plant for coastal exposure and is extensively used in shelter belts. Grows best in full sun in an acid soil but will tolerate some alkalinity as long as it has good drainage. May be damaged by heavy frosts but will usually recover. Can be clipped from an early age. |

Regular pruning will ensure a compact, less straggly shrub. |

Plant in reasonably well drained soil in sun or partial shade. Protect from hard frost when young but mature plants seem to be fairly hardy. |
