|  | The Queen of Cordylines comes from the cool mountainous areas of New Zealand. Needs a moisture retentive soil that is not waterlogged in the winter so add plenty of bark and peat if necessary. Plant in semi or even full shade. Can be a challenge but is worth the effort for the totally exotic look. Do not plant too deep. Develops a large head with numerous leathery leaves up to 1.5m long and 12cm wide. Green or purplish green leaves have an orange midrib. White flowers are produced in the summer. Height 3m. Spread 1m. |
