A perennial yucca-like plant (height and spread to about 1.5m) with green sword-shaped leaves that are not vicious as there are no spines on the leaf tips. Lovely white flower spikes are produced on mature plants in summer, reaching to about 3-4m/9.8-13ft. These flowers are followed by bulbils. It should be planted in full sun in a well-drained soil and should be protected from hard frosts.
