Also known as Russian Sage, this hardy, deciduous, aromatic shrub has lovely silver-grey leaves and stems, which hold upright spikes of tiny, delicate lavender blue flowers throughout the summer. The scent of sage is released upon touching its leaves – making it a great one for planting along a pathway or in a spot accessed regularly. It looks great with ornamental grasses and perennials, and can provide winter interest with its silver stems once its leaves have dropped. It is drought tolerant, and prefers a well-drained soil in a sunny position.
