Known as Dakriet in its native hoem of South Africa, this popular Restio forms a very attractive, fast growing, tufted clump of stunning foliage reaching about 1.5m/4.9ft in height and spread. Slender, compact spikes have brown bracts when flowering in the autumn. Young plants look a little straggly but they soon straighten in to beautiful clumps of structural foliage. It will grow in any well drained soil in full sun, and is a good coastal variety. It is likely to struggle much below -8oC.
