From South Africa, this member of the Restio family needs moisture to establish, after which it should be reasonably drought tolerant. The stems are simple, producing a dense clump of foliage reaching about 76cm/2.5ft high. This is topped in the summer by cinnamon coloured grass like flowers. It should be planted in a free draining soil in full sun.
