Often found growing in groups in it's native habitat of Australia, this is not a true tree fern although in time it will produce a small trunk. Its lovely, deeply serrated, bright green fronds can reach 1m/3.3ft in length, and it is believed to be reasonably hardy although it benefits from winter protection in colder areas. It should be grown in a moist, acidic compost.
Blechnum Penna-Marina
Its evergreen, broadly pinnate, dark green, dull-glazed evergreen fronds form dense low ground-cover in a shady spot, reaching heights of only 15-20cm/6-8inches.
