Chaenomeles x Superba Knap King Scarlet is a flowering, Japanese quince - a spreading thorny shrub with mid-green glossy leaves and clusters of attractive cup-shaped, large, bright red flowers in spring (April-May), followed by green edible fruits ripening to yellow (in August). It should be planted in full sun/partial shade, and watered thoroughly before planting.
