A hardy deciduous shrub from the Himalayas with racemes of beautiful white flowers in late autumn and spring followed by contrasting black fruits. It forms a spreading spiny shrub up to 3m/9.8ft tall with a spread of 2-3m/6.5-9.8ft. It should be planted in a free draining soil in full sun, and should remain hardy down to about -10°C.
